Stygian appears in the game's Story Mode during the post-credit scene, alongside the rest of the Employers. Of the group, Stygian talks the most, berating [[MPN/Dr. Jebediah Christoff|Christoff]] and informing him that the Nexus Charter has been revoked.

In [[MPN/Arena Mode|Arena Mode]], Stygian is referenced several times in relation to the mission The Haunting of Nevada House. The inhabitants of Nevada House worship Stygian due to their connection to [[The Other Place]], and hope to summon them so they can unleash Armageddon using otherworldly creatures. Stygian will only physically appear if the [[Player]] fails the stage by allowing the Demoniac Circle to be fully activated, after which they will burst from the floor and make the screen cut to black.
